BIG GREEN TREE
Add a splash of GREEN to your environment - no watering required! Formal elements of image serves as an abstract burst of positive energy; but walk up close and take a break from your day as you get lost in the extensive network of paths that lead to bliss or darkness, depending upon what you are seeking.
The Big Green Tree [of Life]
A creation by the visionary Artist, Burton Gray, is undefinable by any traditional descriptive phrases, this fantastic visually visceral experience has been described as a Surreal Kinkadian Dreamscape, the Path to Nirvana, and the craziest painting that isn't crazy, but what do you think?
"After my original Tree of Life I began exploring various landscape paintings, both modern and art historical masterpieces, with the intent of unravelling the common elements: themes, patterns, and focal points and focal drives. These elements began to blend together in my mind and clutter my imagination. In order to free myself from these visions I created this piece. The process of creation actually mimics the narrative presented: moving upwards out of darkness toward an energetic light." ~Burton Gray
ART CLASS: PATHS
In Landscape paintings paths serve an important function. On a formal level, they bind various forms together creating a unified whole that is defined by context or composition. On a narrative level, paths lead the eye, much like walking on a real path, encouraging a viewer to wonder through a painting discovering details that would otherwise go unnoticed. Artists intuitively tap into neural memories that mirror the themes they wish to present, thus making the new and fantastical feel familiar but spectacular.
