"Living in a world were we can feel but never touch. " ~ Burton Gray
Historically Artists have used robots as symbols or metaphors for how we relate to technology. When the Industrial Revolution turned people into “machines” artists started turning people into robots. When technology was used to kill (machine guns, bombers) during the World Wars robots turned into killing monsters. Star Trek robots helped people, just as the microwave helped people and space exploration gave us hope. My Robots reflect the effect of social media on the psyche. The build-up of emotional experiences with no corresponding tactile memories ( nothing linking to taste, smell, touch or sound to sight) leads, I believe, to a sense of alienation.
FUNCTIONAL AESTHETICS: Daily reminder that you are a human, don't let technology affect your psychological health.
