Original painting by Burton Gray
The look, a questioning expression of concerned bewilderment was inspired by a girl I new in school. A Pippy Longstocking type, who kept to herself, and watched people with that peculiar stare. Everyone thought she was crazy. But getting to know her I learned she was just trying to figure out why everyone else acted so crazy. My conclusion: We are all just hopping around worlds of our own invention ~ seeking out a place we can belong.
FUNCTIONAL AESTHETIC: Daily reminder that we are all a little crazy, living in a fantasy world of our own design.
MEDIUM RECOMMENDATIONS BY THE ARTIST
Stretched canvas is perfect pick. Natural wood frame works nice. Will look great in pretty much any situation.
Acrylic: Seeing one's face reflected in the introspective piece is cool. If lit correctly its beautiful but not recommended because I feel like unless lit just right the glossy surface puts a bit too much emphasis on yellow in upper left corner.
Framed Fine Art Prints: I prefer canvas for this one, but framed prints, with or without mat, look really good.
I don't like white metal for this image but I know a lot of people do so I make it available.
