Cow painted in the style of an Old Master oil painter, like Rembrandt.  Painting inspired by my grandfather - friendly and loving...but always looking out in judgement of others.  Sees things in black and white and very religious.

Stretched canvas is perfect pick. Frame is unnecessary but a nice touch. Will look great in pretty much any situation.

Acrylic: Wont enhance piece but will add a bit of class to a modern environment. Very reflective though, so not recommended if you plan to hang in a brightly lit room. Optimally, a mid dark room with a soft spot.

FUNCTIONAL AESTHETIC: Daily reminder of the weight of judgement and the strength it takes to hold up one's head/ideals. So be generous with your spirit and understanding of others ways.

Painting inspired by my friendly Grandfather who was nice to everyone but very stern and judgmental toward his family. He judged people based on his interpretation of his personal Christian ideal - an ideal I believe he himself rarely lived up to. Unfortunately, I have a similar impulse, rather than fight my natural inclination to be judgmental I embrace it and simply direct it to take other people's values into consideration when judging them. I don't know everything, but I want people to be better versions of themselves. Looking at this piece reminds me to be a more helpful person.

Symbolism: Black and white because that is how He saw things. Horn and ear that is flipping up and catching light elude to Hell - place He said people are going to if they don’t change their ways.

Suround yourself with images that energize your life.
