Original painting by Burton Gray
Updated version of my popular Happy Face
Inspired by a trip to Wall*Mart, back when they used a Happy Face as their logo, where I saw a kid ask his mom for a toy only to be told to put it back. She said they couldn't afford it but she was buying a fancy stainless steal toaster oven(so I know there was a cheaper white plastic option). Made me question why we buy the things we buy. Anyway, that experience led to my commentary on commercialism, where the smile makes should make you happy but eyes are a bit strained. Idea is you are made happy and stressed at the same time.
MEDIUM RECOMMENDATIONS BY THE ARTIST
Stretched Canvas: looks great in any setting. Frame is unnecessary but if you want framed, black works best.
Acrylic: Yellow will really POP in acrylic. Very reflective but image is simple enough it really isn't hurt by reflection. Black floater frame a nice finishing touch but looks good without and if you have a minimal environment and wont be hangin in a location where you'll frequently see the sides I wouldn't recommend -
Fine Art Print: Similar to Acrylic option but more affordable. Mat if you like (I wouldn't), but frame in black or gold.
